“One can perform two types of escapes, exoduses. A physical escape and a mental escape. Sometimes they are also found combined, but often they are separate. An oblique ratio is noticed in them. The more physically isolated a person is, the greater the chance of migrating mentally. This would have been the first condition of the exodus. The second exodus condition has to do with knowledge. The more knowledgeable the isolated person, the more distant his escape. In our country that has lived half a century of isolation, there are many people who have escaped, people whom society calls “dreamers” or even “lost”. There are even some of them who could not leave the body even after the ’90s. Some were poor, some physically weak, some had some laziness. One of these characters who traveled all his life with his mind and never with his body is our “Noe”, Lekë Tasi.
Lekë Tasi is a visual artist, musician and writer. Man of culture and philosophy.
Lekë Tasi was born in 1929, worked for 15 years as a cellist in the state opera orchestra, later was interned for 15 others in a lost village and after the fall of communism he became involved only in art. This character sits in the bow of a boat and recites his life, in front of people who all their lives wanted to escape, but could not. He will be a Noah of the mind who for an hour will lead people on a journey of the mind, towards music, towards literature and towards images…
Text: Lekë Tasi, Stefan Çapaliku and Ledian Gjeçi
